When in Internet Explorer, to quickly go to the address bar without taking your hands off the keyboard, press alt + d. This will highlight whatever is in the address bar and allow you to enter the next destination, surfing fractionally quicker.
Tim Armitage shared with me that you also can type in the address bar just what is between "www." and ".com," and then hit control+enter and Explorer will fill in the www and .com for you. So just type in "apple" and hit control+enter to go to www.apple.com. Another few seconds saved!
